ONE DAY LIKE THIS
Dipping a toe into the world of Spanish native grapes, without any particular direction in mind, we just picked up 3 of their most well known native varietals – 1 white and 2 reds.

Native to northern Puglia, this ancient bloom dusted, dark blue/black grape, with its relatively compact bunches of thick-skinned, round berries, has for centuries been more associated with being a ‘BLENDER’ than with ‘100%’ varietals.

In search of a true reflection of Aglianico, that enigmatic native gem from Basilicata in Italy’s deep south, we’ve just completed our first encounter with Re Manfredi 2011 DOC Aglianico del Vulture from Terre degli Svevi. What an intro!
