Beyond the rewarding pleasure, what independent recognition for one’s work delivers most is a much needed boost of energy. One imagines it’s something similar to the photosynthetic rush that a vine leaf feels at the moment when the clouds part, revealing the enriching light they’d been concealing. Exposure to literary light is a profound joy.
Sincere thanks to the International Jury of the OIV (Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin) for having selected Pignolo Cultivating the Invisible among its 15 laureates for the OIV Awards 2022.
Indeed not only did Pignolo’s story capture the award in their Wines & Territories category, it was also one of only two books which the Jury singled out for special recognition for its original illustrative efforts.
Of course, myself and Pignolo realize that this light has reached us thanks to the unwavering support and imagination of two very special people – Carin Marzaro (Graphic Design) and Simon J Woolf (Text Editing).
For them, another consignment of eternal thanks!
Real magic happens when you believe in it!
